Packaging Supervisor
Title:Packaging Supervisor
The Production Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate the operations and continuous improvement activities of the packaging department as assigned and be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
  • • Coordinate, supervise, and monitor the workings of various departments in production to ensure efficiency, quality, waste, and delivery expectations are achieved.
  • • Measure and communicate operations performance daily and work w/ other departments to improve operational efficiencies. Implement corrective actions to ensure problems do not continue.
  • • Identify and reduce/eliminate waste in the operations areas by identifying and implementing CI activities. Improve processes and policies in support of departmental goals. Measure OEE and implement improvement activities.
  • • Adhere to production schedule, communicate any necessary changes across all shifts, coordinate and communicate between support functions and other production departments and shifts. Manage headcount to deliver customer demand and maintaining operational efficiency.
  • • Implement and support departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output and provide a safe environment for our associates perform safety observations and coach employees to maintain safety first culture.
  • • Ensure quality of products and manufacturing standards that are compliant with company’s quality management system. Continually monitoring products and processes to ensure compliance.
  • • Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field of study highly preferred.

  • 5+ years or work experience supervising in manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer candidates with knowledge and/or experience in continuous improvement activities and implementation of lean tools such as:
    • SMED, Visual Factory Management, TPM, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events, etc.
  • Prefer experience in a “batch processing” or “make-to-order” manufacturing environment
  • Must have prior knowledge of manufacturing principles such as efficiency, productivity, quality systems & standards and safety processes & procedures.
  • Must be able to speak, read/comprehend, and write in English.
