|Title:||Manufacturing Engineer-Electrical/PLC Programmer|
The Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical/PLC Programmer is responsible for maintaining, designing, and implementing electrical and programming projects related to production equipment and machinery. The general position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of new and current production equipment through the provisions of effective methods and strategies. This position works with internal and external resources to incorporate technical solutions to automate manufacturing processes.
- Design, coordinate, and implement electrical and mechanical engineering work. Programming of various PLC software. Design and implementation of electrical systems. Provide technical guidance and leadership for technicians and mechanics. Monitor performance and implement improvements for equipment. Ensure timelines and quality of products is met. Analyze and resolve technical problems, develop specifications, formulate plans, and estimate project cost. Ensure automation projects meet or exceed process capability requirements.
- Perform modifications to equipment as needed which involves, researching, designing, building/sourcing machinery/tools and/or add-ons for current or new machinery, estimate project cost, and execute results. Test and validate new machinery/modified equipment and write preventive maintenance protocols. Support line trials of new products on production equipment.
- Be the technical resource to help identify potential issues/problems with machinery. Facilitate coordination and communication between support services and cross-function teams. Support, lead, and participate on continuous improvement teams to help eliminate waste and increase throughput. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures. Work with Operations, Quality, and Process Engineering to automate quality inspections for in-process quality.
- Assist in preparing engineering capital project budgets, manage budget for capital projects and upgrades, and assist on any other specialized projects. Evaluate new automation technologies for application in the processing of cosmetic products. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with strong mechanical skills or related field of study. Proficiency with PLC programming such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc. Siemens is preferred.
Experience: Ability to read blueprints/drawings, proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Must have knowledge and experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
